Description of the challenge

🚀 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲-𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗱𝗱-𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲❓
In the floating offshore wind industry, we talk a lot about cutting costs. But the Marin Energi Testsenter AS (METCentre) wants to — if not shift, at least add — the focus of a different side of the equation: Increasing value.

An offshore wind farm is a massive investment. Why should cables, foundations, and monitoring systems only serve one purpose? This challenge aims for "multitasking" solutions: Innovative add-ons that utilize existing assets to create new revenue streams, data insights, or environmental benefits.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗠𝗘𝘀 🚀
Through the RENEW-BOOSTER project, the METCentre is now launching a challenge for innovative SMEs across Europe 🌍

Do you have (or can you come up with) smart solutions to:
✅ Utilize existing offshore infrastructure for additional purposes.
✅ Develop new monitoring capabilities or services.
✅ Support co-existence with the marine environment, without compromising safety or operations.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆❓
Successful applicants will receive funding to develop their innovation projects, helping to build a smarter, more sustainable offshore wind industry.

As home to the world’s first floating turbine (Zephyros) and the TetraSpar Demonstrator, METCentre offers a world-leading test environment with unique natural conditions. Can your technology help offshore wind reach its full potential?
